Location
Striking colors, flavors and scents make our corner of Provence unforgettable. Hike the hills of the Luberon, shop handmade and antique wares, and experience markets full of fresh, local foods. Savor flavors that will take your breath away: visit olive oil artisans, sample local goat cheese, and sip a glass in vineyards that tell the story of Ansouis. Enjoy a café crème and friendly chat in a cozy neighborhood café.
Featured in the French magazine Maison et Décors, our home is an official historic monument. After the French revolution, Ansouis remained loyal to the royalty, however, our home was the furtive meeting place and headquarters of those who supported the new République.
Home Comforts
As you enter the grand salon and dining area, let your gaze soar upward to the rustic beamed ceilings. Relax in sumptuous sofas and chairs from Roche Bobois in front of a seven-foot wood burning fireplace. A flat screen TV features programming from the BBC, NBC, CNN, Bloomberg and dozens of channels from the UK.
Tucked in a petit coin just off the living room is a spectacular three-story open atrium now featuring a dramatic fountain and plenty of seating for sunrise coffee and petit déjeuner or a glass of cool rosé under the stars. Here a gas BBQ is ready for your en plein air meals and grillades.
Dining
As an executive in the Housewares industry, I cannot help but ensure that our gourmet kitchen is luxurious appointed. It is spacious and perfect for cooking provencal meals with friends. Additionally, there is a mini prep kitchen and large roof terrace upstairs with a charcoal BBQ for outdoor dining.
Hungry, but too tired to cook? Our extraordinary friend and private chef Helen is available by advance booking. She'll cook in the house for a party or she will deliver, masterfully working with your likes, dislikes, and food allergies. Rates, requested dates, and menus are arranged directly with the chef.
Sleeping Quarters
Slumber sweetly in our queen and king sized beds. Our home features five unique, airy bedrooms featuring high ceilings and offering quiet, private spaces to retreat and recharge. Abundant closet space is available throughout.
The three bedrooms located on the first floor are ensuite, featuring luxurious baths and American style showers. The two bedrooms on the topmost floor create a private suite featuring views peering out of the rooftops of Ansouis. Each room features antique furnishings, shutters and blackout drapes to allow for restful sleep, and air conditioning for comfort.
